LIRRCC Elects Leadership

On May 9, 2013, The Long Island Rail Road Commuter Council (LIRRCC) held its election of officers for terms extending through May 2015. Mark J. Epstein, who represents Suffolk County on the LIRRCC, was unanimously reelected Chair, and Larry Rubinstein, who represents Nassau County on the LIRRCC, was unanimously elected Vice Chair.

Mark J. Epstein, of Melville, is the managing partner at the law firm of Pazer, Epstein & Jaffe, P.C. He earned a B.S. degree from The American University and his J.D. from New York Law School. He is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, Nassau County Bar Association, New York County Lawyers Association, and American Association for Justice, and sits on the Board of Directors of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. He has been selected as one of NY’s Super Lawyers for three years running. He also sits on the Infrastructure Work Group of the Long Island Regional Economic Council and The Long Island Association’s LIA’s Economic Development and Infrastructure Committee. He is a strong advocate of civil and human rights and has been appointed to the Suffolk County Human Rights Commission and Suffolk County’s Jewish Advisory Board. He lives in Melville and commutes on the Ronkonkoma Branch.

Mr. Rubinstein is employed as Engineer in Charge for studios and mobile trucks with NEP Broadcasting. He had previously served as Studio Chief Engineer with Magno Sound & Video, after holding several other positions with the firm. Mr. Rubinstein also does freelance video engineer projects in his spare time. He presently assists Nassau Legislator Dave Denenberg’s LIRR Advisory Committee, which meets quarterly. Mr. Rubinstein is an active voice in his community and works closely with schools, local civic associations and other community groups. He lives in North Bellmore and commutes on the Babylon Branch.
