Edith Prentiss: Celebrating Accessibility Advocate – A Train 175th Street Station Elevator Dedication

0

Today, the MTA and transit accessibility advocates attended the elevator dedication ceremony at the A train’s 175th Street station to honor NYCTRC’s Edith Prentiss. The 175th Street station was Edith’s home station that will now bear a plaque celebrating her long-lasting impact on NYC Transit accessibility. In attendance was MTA Chief Accessibility Officer, Quemuel Arroyo; MTA Board member, Victor Calise; MTA Board member and NYCTRC Chair, Andrew Albert; Manhattan Borough President, Gale Brewer; and many others including local elected officials, transit accessibility advocates, and Ms. Prentiss’s family. Ms. Prentiss will be sorely missed and we will all continue the fight for transit accessibility – carrying on where Edith left off.

“Find your inner Edith,” Victor Calise.
