Mark J. Epstein – LIRRCC Chair, PCAC Executive Committee

Mark J. Epstein is the managing partner at the law firm of Pazer, Epstein, Jaffe & Fein P.C. He earned a B.S. degree from The American University and his J.D. from New York Law School.  He is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, Nassau County Bar Association, and American Association for Justice, and sits on the Board of Directors of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. He has been selected as one of NY’s Super Lawyers for eight years running and has been named The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 lawyers for eight years running.  He is a member of the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce, The Huntington Lawyers Group and The Long Island Association (LIA), The Jewish Lawyers of Nassau County and is a graduate of the Suffolk County Police Department’s Citizens Academy. He is a strong advocate of civil and human rights and has been appointed a Commissioner to the Suffolk County Human Rights Commission and Chairs the Suffolk County Jewish Advisory Board.  He lives in Melville and commutes on the Ronkonkoma Branch.

Gerard P. Bringmann - LIRRCC Vice Chair

Gerard Bringmann is a Project Superintendent for O+D Builders, a Manhattan-based construction management firm. Previously, Mr. Bringmann spent twelve years in New York City interior renovation firms. An active in community service member, Mr. Bringmann is currently the Legislative Activities Chairman of Suffolk Region PTA.

Mr Brigman served as the chairman of the LIRRCC for four years, the vice chairman of the LIRRCC for 2 years, and as the PCAC second vice chairman for two years.

Mr. Bringmann received an Associate in Applied Science degree from the State University of New York at Farmingdale.

He is married with three children and eight grandchildren and has commuted on the Montauk Branch from Patchogue since 1982.

Larry Rubinstein

Larry Rubinstein is employed as Engineer in Charge for studios and mobile trucks with NEP Broadcasting. He previously served as Studio Chief Engineer with Magno Sound & Video, after holding several other positions with the firm. Mr. Rubinstein also does freelance video engineer projects in his spare time.

Mr. Rubinstein presently assists Nassau Legislator Dave Denenberg’s LIRR Advisory Committee, which meets quarterly. Mr. Rubinstein is an active voice in
his community and works closely with schools, local civic associations and other community groups.

Mr. Rubinstein presently resides in North Bellmore, New York.

Sheila Carpenter

Sheila Carpenter is Social Work Supervisor for NYS Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities at Bernard Fineson DDSO in Queens. She also has a private practice offering therapy and educational training based in Ronkonkoma, but that brings her all over the boroughs and Westchester County. About nine times per month she travels to do training in Mt. Vernon, the Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn. She travels solely on public transportation, using all forms including trains, buses, and subways.

Ms. Carpenter has been actively involved for many years in advocating Suffolk County to increase bus service. Her case management work as a NYS social worker has required her to use multiple train lines on a daily basis. She is
therefore acutely aware of the functioning level of the Queens transportation system.

Ms. Carpenter earned her bachelor’s degree from Dowling College and her Master’s Degree from Stony Brook.

She was born in Liverpool, England and relocated to Montreal, Canada as a child. By the age of five, she had moved to Sayville, Long Island. For the past thirty-five years she has been a resident of Ronkonkoma. She seems to live on the LIRR.

Michael Godino

Michael Godino is Director of Advocacy with the Brooklyn Center for Independence of the Disabled. He is also the Treasurer of the American Council of the Blind, Council of Citizens with Low Vision International, New York Vision Rehabilitation Association and New York State Council of Citizens with Low Vision. Previously, Mr. Godino was President of the American Council of the Blind of NY, inclusive of the Long Island Chapter.

Mr. Godino is also a board member with the New York State Rehabilitation Council for People who are Blind, appointed by Governor Paterson in 2009. He also a board member with the American Council of the Blind, American Council of the Blind of New York, Council of Citizens with Low Vision International, New York Association for Vision Rehabilitation and a member of the Nassau County Long Island Bus Para-Transit Eligibility Appeals Board.

Mr. Godino attended Nassau Community College and received Associate of Science degree in Engineering and attended Queens College, receiving a Bachelors of Art degree in Physics.

Mr. Godino resides in Malverne, New York.

Raymond Pagano

Raymond Pagano is Project Superintendent with TDX Construction Management. Previously, Mr. Pagano worked at The LiRo Group.

Mr. Pagano has extensive experience in transportation projects. Mr. Pagano has over 25 years of experience in the field of engineering with a specialty in the construction discipline involving buildings and transportation projects; particularly adept relative to ITS, general highway/bridge construction, railroad, as well as M.E.P. inspection, buildings and foundations construction. He has worked on many projects for such agencies as Nassau County DPW, Town of Oyster Bay, NYCTA, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, MTA-TBTA, MTA-LIRR, NYCDOS, DASNY, and PANY&NJ.

Mr. Pagano’s educational background includes a MA-Bachelor’s Degree Program Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, and an Associate’s Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from the Technical Career Institute in New York.

Mr. Pagano resides in Oceanside, NY.

Bryan Peranzo

Bryan Peranzo is a Regional Loss Prevention Manager with Gap Inc. – Old Navy.  Mr. Peranzo has worked at Gap Inc. since 1998 and has held various roles in operations and asset protection.

Mr. Peranzo received his B.B.A., Business Computer Information System from Hofstra University.  He also has certifications/licenses for CompTIA A+, CPR/First Aid/AED, NYS Security Guard, and is Wicklander-Zulawski & Associates Interrogation trained and certified.

When he resided in North Bellmore, NY, Mr. Peranzo was a board member of the North Bellmore Civic Association.  He currently resides in Levittown, New York and is also active in the Levittown Community Council.

Marilyn N. Poterson

Marilyn N. Poterson is a VP Credit Officer for the Metropolitan Commercial Bank of New York.  Ms. Poterson has spent the last twenty years in the finance industry, with the last eight years dedicated to commercial underwriting.

Ms. Poterson attended the Dowling College – Townsend School of Business in Oakdale, New York, where she received her MBA in Banking and Finance in 2009. In addition, Ms. Poterson is the President (2018 – 2019) of the Community Bankers Mortgage Forum.

Ms. Poterson has been a resident of Suffolk County for 24 years, and has been a regular commuter on the LIRR for over eight years. Ms. Poterson is an active community member from Central Islip, fostering a nuanced understanding of issues confronting her fellow commuters.
